Community Center – Fitness Land Classes 20/20/20 – Three workouts in one! The 20/20/20 class is designed to give you the ultimate challenge and total body workout. Sweat through 20 min. of cardio, 20 min. of strength training, and 20 min. of stretching and core work. Are you ready for the challenge?
3-2-1 – A challenging class that keeps you on your toes. 3 – 2 – 1 stands for 3 minutes of cardio, 2 minutes strength and 1 minute of core.
Barre – Pilates – A pilates class that incorporates light weights, bands, tubes, small fitness balls, the barre and lower body toning. Not your average pilates class!
Butts & Gutts – This is an intense workout that focuses on your hips, thighs, butt and core! Lower body exercises are combined with bursts of cardio that will get your heart pumping.
Cross-Training Light – A perfect blend of low impact cardio mixed with a variety of strength training exercises. If you are looking for a low intensity complete workout, then this is the class for you!
Cycle & Tone – Get your heart rate up with cycling and tone your muscles with strength training. This class will be an informal format with bursts of cardio on the cycle bikes and strength training between the cycle intervals. Get ready for a full body workout.
Group Strength Training – Are you ready to challenge your body?!?! Join us for a variety of exercises to strengthen your whole body. This class will use various exercise equipment and training styles including plyometric and interval training.
H.I.I.T. – High Intensity Interval Training A constantly varied, high intensity, functional movement class that will leave you exhausted! A style of crossfit without heavy weights but still using proper technique. This class can be for the beginner in the weight room or the advanced lifter needing a quick sweat. Our Instructor will base each workout on the members of the class. Can you handle it !?! (Saturday class meets by the TRX bands).
Pilates – A unique exercise system designed to improve muscle tone, posture and flexibility. This class focuses on core strength (stomach/back) and long and lean muscle development. Great for all fitness levels!
POUND – POUND is a full-body cardio jam session, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics and Isometric poses into a 45-minute series. Burn between 400 and 900+ calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique – all while rocking out to your favorite music!
Strength and Sculpt – This class is designed for those who want to get started with strength training. A variety of equipment will be used to give you a total body workout. In this class you will improve your strength, muscle tone and flexibility. All levels are welcome.
Strong by Zumba – This class combines high intensity interval training with the science of synced music motivation. More traditional exercise moves, not a dance style of class like regular Zumba.
Tai Chi – This class consists of gentle flowing movements to strengthen the body and mind. Tai Chi can help increase your balance, muscular strength, flexibility, circulation and reduce stress.
Total Burn – This is a high energy cardio and strength class for a total body workout! Come ready to work.
Turn Up – These workouts are intense, fun and life-changing. This dance style of class is a combination of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) to hip hop and pop music.
Yoga – Relax while strengthening your body during this beginner/intermediate yoga class. Each class includes instruction in basic yoga and breathing techniques. Standing, seated and balancing postures, followed by deep relaxation will help to calm your mind while developing muscular strength and improving posture and flexibility.
Yoga 101 – This is a beginner level yoga class. See description of Yoga.
Zumba – Are you ready for a “feel happy” workout that is both for the body and mind? If so, then Zumba is for you! A fusion of Latin and International music and dance combinations will have you moving to a blend of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Add a little Latin flavor to your workout!
Zumba Gold – A lower impact, easy to follow, Latin-inspired dance fitness party that keeps you in the groove of life.
Active Mature Adults (AMA) – Low impact classes designed for the 55+ age group.
Yoga Stretch – This class will move your whole body through a series of movements and poses to help increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises along with final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures.
Muscular Strength and Range of Motion – Resistance training class designed to increase muscular strength and range of movement. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing, along with other various exercise equipment will be used. A chair will be provided for seated or standing support.
Silver Sneakers “Classic” – You will learn a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of motion as well as activities for daily living. Various resistance equipment is used and chairs are available for support if needed.
Silver Sneakers Yoga – You will move your body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered. Restorative breathing exercises and relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.
Attention Clay County residents who are 60+ years of age.
Clay County Senior Services will provide class scholarships to Clay County residents age 60 and older for exercise classes through the City of Gladstone Parks and Recreation department. This includes both land and water classes. Clay County Senior Services will pay up to $30 per person, per quarter, not to exceed $120 a year. Funds will be available until the max amount is met per quarter. This is a first come, first served basis.
