Try to cut down sugar and caffeine intake because they affect the secretion of progesterone hormone. As a result, you have a difficult menstruation.
Regular exercise: Exercise regularly to have a healthy hormonal balance. There are a few exercises to ease the menstruation pain. Take any form of exercise based on your choice. You can exercise during your periods as well. It will give you warmth and will improve the blood flow in your body.
Take supplements: Along with getting the fiber, vitamins and fats from the food items, your body may need some extra minerals externally. Under the guidance of a professional nutritionist, you can take zinc, magnesium, vitamin B6 and B12 supplements additionally. These supplements will ease the cramps during your menstruation.
Heat treatment: This technique has been used since ancient times to reduce menstrual cramps. Use hot water bags and press gently on your abdomen area during periods. It will relieve the pain and give you warmth to soothe the muscles.
Birth-control pills: Hormonal birth control pills prevents the shedding of uterine lining and thus ovulation. Therefore, if you take them, you will experience lesser or no pain at all during menstruation. You have to take medical guidance to determine the right kind of birth control pills for your body type.
Anti-inflammatory painkillers: If you cannot bear the pain, you can have anti-inflammatory painkillers like Midol and Ibuprofen. Take the advice of a doctor before taking any pills because every body type requires its particular medicine.
Release stress with the help of yoga and meditation: Stress is one of the prime reasons for hormonal imbalance which triggers difficult menstruation. Meditation and yoga help to soothe the nerves and release the stress. It is medically proven that yoga and meditations are the two natural ways to prevent the menstrual cramps without medications. Your body also needs 7-8 hours of sleep every night.
